We believe in God…
We believe in the absolute uniqueness of God as He declares in Isaiah 45:5 ’I Am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from
me there is no God.’ We believe in the unity of the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead of the
We believe in Judgement…
We believe that all men are sinful from birth, as Scripture declares ’Surely I have been a sinner from birth, sinful from the time
my mother conceived me.’ (Psalm 51:5) Therefore all men are answerable to God for their sin ’There is no difference, for all
have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.’ (Romans 3:23) The human race is enslaved by sin and helpless to save itself,
as Jesus told us in John 8:34: ’I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.’
We believe that God justly punishes man for his sinfulness and rebellion: ’the wages of sin is death.’ (Romans 6:23)
We believe in Salvation…
We believe that the forgiveness of sin and freedom from its power is only possible through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour:
’But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin… you have been set free from sin.’ (Romans 6:17-18)
We believe that this freedom and forgiveness is uniquely offered by Jesus as He declared ’I am the way and the truth and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ (John 14:6)
We believe salvation was purchased for mankind by the voluntary sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. That ’Just as Moses lifted
up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.’
(John 3:14-16) ’For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have eternal life.’ (John 3:16)
We believe that through the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross and acceptance of salvation through Him that we are adopted into
God’s family of Christians throughout the world, for: ’to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the
right to become children of God.’ (John 1:12)
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, but death could not hold Him and He rose again after three days as promised
in Scripture. ’God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of that fact. Exalted to the right hand of God’ (Acts
We believe that Jesus now intercedes for believers in heaven: ’For there is one God and one mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men.’ (1 Timothy 2:5-6)
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ will return again to judge the living and the dead and to establish the rule of God in His
We believe in the Spirit…
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, leads us to Jesus for salvation and lives in every believer, guaranteeing
by His presence that they belong to God (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).
We believe the Holy Spirit lives and is present in every believer, drawing us closer to God in prayer, guiding us to live God’s
way, leading us into all truth and helping us witness. We believe the Holy Spirit equips every believer for service and gives
them gifts to use to the glory of God and the building up of the Church.
We believe in the Bible….
We believe in the Divine inspiration and infallibility of the Holy Scriptures, as originally given; and its absolute authority in all
matters of faith and practice. For ’All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.’ (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe that the Holy Spirit keeps Scripture in our hearts so that we do not sin against God and uses it as a lamp to guide
us through life (Psalm 119:11 and 119:105).
We believe in the Church…
We believe that ’Christ is head of the church, his body, of which He is the Saviour.’ (Ephesians 5:23) Therefore we believe
that the church belongs to Christ and thus should always seek His leading and follow His commands.
We believe the church should devote itself to teaching, fellowship, communion and prayer. (Acts 2:42)
We believe that every believer is adopted into God’s family, the church, (both the local church and world-wide church) and
have God-given gifts and talents to bring to the church as their act of worship and service to God. (1 Corinthians 12)
To belong to the church is to commit oneself to share in the spiritual and practical responsibilities of the work. To offer your
gifts and talents freely as an act of worship and obedience to God
• Committing oneself to:
Regularly attending the services of the church and devoting to the teaching (of the church, and to) fellowship, communion
and prayer. (Acts 2:42)
• To give willingly to the work of the church ’the gift is acceptable according to what one has’ (2 Corinthians 8:12) whether
monetary or practical.
• To selflessly care for and support each other and ’Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another
in love.’ (Ephesians 4:2)
• To ’make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace’ (Ephesians 4:3) avoiding division and
promoting oneness in Christ.
• To be a living witness to Christ Jesus, ’As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires when you lived in
ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, be holy in all you do.’ (1 Peter 1:14-15)
• ‘Therefore , I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to
God - which is your spiritual worship.’ (Romans 12:1)
